I received my PhD in 1978 from Rice University in the Department of Space Physics and Astronomy. My research advisor was Dr. Joseph W. Chamberlain (1928-2004). The title of my dissertation is "A Quantitative Analysis of the Light Reflected from Venus." For the past 20+ years I have been fortunate to work on the puzzle of gamma-ray bursts with the BATSE team at Marshall Space Flight Center and GRB teams at the Centre d'Etude des Rayonnements Spatiale (CESR) in Toulouse, France.
